What database does SkilBase® use?
SkilBase® uses Microsoft SQL Server 7/2000
Do I need both the Client server and the Web served solutions?
Depending on your implementation and your requirements, you could use either of the two or both.
Do I need a special Browser installed on my computer to use the SkilBase Web served solution?
No, your existing browser (I.E., Firefox, etc) will work fine without any additional software installation
For operators in our production environment we have thin-client stations running on Citrix. Is SkilBase compatible with this setup?
Yes, SkilBase is fully compatible with Citrix platform.
Can the SkilBase system be updated/upgraded without disrupting the production process?
Yes, regular upgrades and/or system updates are done without affecting the users.
Does the resource path support UNC (Universal Naming Convention)?
Yes. Resources can be linked to SkilBase® from a remote computer on the network or the Internet.
What file types are supported as resources?
All files types with WIN32 viewers are supported, such as MS Word documents, HTML/XML pages, mpg and avi video, mp3 and wav audio, all picture formats, etc.
How many simultaneous users does the system allow?
There is no limit to the number of simultaneous users.
Does an employee have to type in a separate logon for SkilBase®?
SkilBase® offers users an option to log on to SkilBase® separately from the workstation logon, or have the SkilBase® logon authenticated with the workstation logon.
Who has access to an employee’s training and performance records and who can change them?
Employees’ have access only to their own training and performance records and they cannot make changes to this information. Managers and supervisors have access to the records of their direct subordinates and can make changes.
Does SkilBase® maintain audit records?
Yes. SkilBase® keeps audit records on the performance and certification status of employees; on course completion; on resource revisions; and on user access to the system.
Can more than one competency profile be assigned to an employee?
Yes. Multiple profiles can be assigned to an employee.
Does SkilBase meet ISO 9000 requirements?
Yes. SkilBase® identifies the work requirements for a position, tracks the performance status of individuals and manages the review/change cycle for supporting documentation.
Do I have to enter employee data manually?
No, with SkilBase’s® Import Employee Data feature, the system administrator can import a list of employees from a text file, with each employee name on a separate row and each information field separated by a comma or tab.
